The premiere of the Lamborghini Gallardo took place at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003. The new sports car has become the most popular model of the automaker – more than 12 thousand Gallardos have been sold in 8 years of production. The name of the car comes from the name of the breed of fighting bulls used for bullfighting. The Lamborghini Gallardo became the first car produced by Lamborghini after coming under the control of the Audi concern. The new sports car received a four-wheel drive system developed by specialists from the German Ingolstadt. The heart of the Italian "bull" was a ten-cylinder V-shaped engine with a capacity of 500 hp. The maximum speed of the car was 310 km / h. Thanks to the all-wheel drive system, the Gallardo acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h was no more than 4 seconds. In 2006, the car was slightly modified. The engine power increased from 500 to 520 hp, which reduced the acceleration time to a hundred to 3.9 seconds.
